The purpose of this course is for learners to describe factors contributing to crime as well as the consequences of crime.

Once learners have successfully completed this course, they will be able to describe the following.

  • Elements of crime
  • Different categories of crime
  • Factors that may contribute to criminal offending
  • Non-legal consequences of crime
  • Aims of criminal sanctions
  • Distinctive features of criminal sanctions

This is an exciting area of law. Tutors are encouraged to use a range of current resources such as newspaper articles and documentaries to help learners develop their understanding of the concepts in this course.
