Manage own learning in a programme

Level: 2 Credits: 3 Marking Service Assessment Only

Description:

Take charge of your learning – and make a plan that keeps you on track

Learning doesn’t have to feel like guesswork. This course helps you understand what affects the way you learn, take more responsibility for your progress, and create a practical plan for achieving your learning goals.

What you'll learn

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • Recognise factors that affect your learning
  • Explain behaviours that help you take responsibility for learning
  • Create a learning plan with clear outcomes and milestones
  • Consider your needs, resources, environment, and any challenges
  • Review your progress and see how well your plan is working

Rather than simply learning theory, you’ll apply these ideas to your own learning programme and put your plan into action.

Assessment requirements

You’ll complete two open-book assessment tasks

As part of this assessment you will create a plan for one of your own learning programmes. This plan will run for around 4 – 8 weeks so there is enough time to show how you have managed your learning.

The result? A clearer idea of how you learn best, what keeps you moving forward, and how to turn a goal into a plan you can actually follow.

This course is developed by Instant Education Solutions and aligned with NZQA Unit Standard 7118: Manage your own learning programme – Level 2, Credits 3.
