The purpose of this course is for learners to be able to demonstrate their knowledge of serving customers in a retail environment.

Learners who have successfully completed this course will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following:

Applying personal skills:

  • how our behaviours enhance customer experience
  • effective communication skills
  • responding to customer issues

Using selling strategies:

  • treating the customer as an individual
  • making add-on sales (according to organisational procedures)
  • services offered as part of the sales process
  • considering merchandising policies
  • influence of opening and closing procedures on customer experience

Understanding customer expectations:

  • customer demographics
  • legal requirements
  • environmental considerations.
