Give clear workplace instructions people can confidently act on — even if presenting isn’t your strong point.
Giving instructions at work doesn’t have to leave you wondering whether the other person understood. This course will help you communicate tasks clearly, confidently and in a way that suits the person and situation.
What you'll learn
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
Through practical activities, workplace examples and opportunities to plan and practise your own instructions, you’ll develop skills you can use rather than simply learning communication theory.
You don’t need polished presentation skills. The course guides you through planning, practising and delivering instructions effectively.
These skills are useful whenever you need to explain a process, train a colleague, introduce a new task, explain a workplace procedure or help someone complete a job correctly.
What you need for assessment
For assessment, you’ll prepare to communicate a specific task and then give the instructions in your actual workplace or work-experience setting.
Your performance will need to be observed by an assessor or a workplace supervisor or manager.
