Demonstrate and apply knowledge of office equipment and administration processes

Level: 2 Credits: 4

Description:

Get office-ready with practical administration skills – no experience needed

Office administration doesn’t have to feel unfamiliar or overwhelming. This course will help you build the practical skills needed to confidently use common office equipment and follow everyday administration processes in line with workplace requirements.

What you'll learn

By the end of the course, you'll be able to:

  • Handle administration processes such as mail, filing, security, and health and safety
  • Use at least four office administration processes correctly
  • Operate key telephone functions and a multi-function printer/copier
  • Use at least two other pieces of office equipment appropriately

Rather than simply learning about office administration, you'll practise doing it — building the confidence and workplace habits needed to contribute effectively in an office environment.

No previous office experience is required. You’ll learn how to apply these skills to everyday administrative situations, helping you work more efficiently, safely, and professionally in an office environment.

What you need for assessment

As part of the assessment, you will need to demonstrate administration processes and the required office equipment.

This can take place in either a real workplace or a simulated workplace environment. Your performance will need to be observed by an assessor or, where appropriate, a workplace supervisor or manager who can verify that you demonstrate the required skills.

This means you can complete the assessment whether you're already working in an office role or need to demonstrate your skills in a suitable simulated workplace setting.

This course is developed by Instant Education Solutions and aligned with NZQA Unit Standard 121: Demonstrate and apply knowledge of office equipment and administration processes - Level 2, 4 credits.
